How to have a hiking engagement session?
Do you and your fiancé just love to get up into the mountains every single weekend? If you can’t imagine a weekend where you aren’t exploring a trail, a hiking engagement session might be perfect for you. There really are no restrictions as to where we can do a hiking engagement session, just let me know your favorite trail so I can acquire the correct permits to photograph you two along the way.
Whether we hike to an alpine lake or an overlook, I’ll get action shots of you along the way, as well as have time for a more portrait-y session at our destination where you’ll take the wardrobe up a notch.
We’ll make sure to plan the right length of hike, as well as the best time of day to make sure we get great light and avoid the crowds. Our goal will be to arrive at our destination in time to freshen up and catch the alpine glow, either right before or after it gets a little dark.
To prep for a hiking engagement session, make sure you wear your hiking shoes and comfortable clothing. You’ll want to bring water, snacks, and a change of clothes for the session at our destination. I recommend headlamps for our descent since we might be hiking a little bit in the dark, depending on timing. I’ll also be bringing my poles to keep me from tripping, even with my headlamp. What can I say, I'm a bit of a klutz!
These long hiking engagement sessions are so much fun and are definitely an adventure! Let’s hit the trail and capture some special images!
