Colorado Winter Wedding Venues: Private Estates
Private Estates are perfect for intimate weddings for people who have guests with limited mobility, cold tolerance or poor winter driving skills. You can get everything you want from winter mountain activities with the intimacy of being alone in the wilderness with a huge fireplace.
Colorado Winter Wedding Venues: National Parks & Forests
If you're looking for a real adventure in the wintertime, national parks and forests are a perfect option for an elopement. There's not much of a shelter option with national parks and forests but you do get the best views. (Note: National Parks have restrictions on where you can say your vows it must be reserved ahead of time.)
Great Sand Dunes National Park
Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests
I love the winter in Colorado, the snow really gives everything a special feeling. It might be a little chilly and a little harder to get to but it’s totally worth it if you want a winter wedding. Some people also might think that snow means holiday but it doesn’t have to be an event that is centered around Christmas or it’s colors! If you are worried about that then just avoid red! That would make it safe and non-holiday! It also helps if you have it in January through March! You’ll get amazing snow up in the mountains and it’ll be after all the holiday feels!
When to have your winter wedding!
The best possibility of snow is the middle of January through the middle of March. That’s when the ski resorts get the largest amounts of snow. We can also see snow up in the mountains October through April, depending on the year! If you just want to make sure the mountains are covered in snow but it’s not actually snowing your best chances are middle of March through April. May is mud season and usually, everything is closed plus it’s all muddy and gross.
