I’m all about breaking those so-called traditional rules if they don’t feel right to you! We can do whatever you want to, it’s your elopement day and there are NO RULES! And if you’re in the beginning stages of planning your elopement, I strongly encourage you to think about getting married on a weekday. And here’s a long list on why weekday elopements are the BEST!

With more and more people discovering the gorgeous views and adventurous activities that Colorado has to offer, the roads are getting a little packed. Sometimes it's so bad that we are all getting used to having everything we need to last four to six extra hours in the car comfortably with snacks and water. Let’s face it, most people have things to do during the week, like work! So there will be less people out and about during the week, giving you more privacy. Another tip if you’re dreaming of a very private ceremony is to have a sunrise ceremony. Most people don't start hiking before dawn unless they are going up a 14er so the chances of running into people are way less than sunset!

Easier To Reserve Location Permits

The great thing about the middle of the week is there’s more flexibility and available to get permits to the most epic locations. There’s no need for sleepless nights trying to reserve the exact time and place for a saturday, only to not get it because your router decided to plummet to its death.

It’s also the best time to have an elopement if you’re going to have a party to celebrate your wedding! So you can hike to your favorite alpine lake on a Wednesday, mini honeymoon it up on Thursday and Friday, then have a family and friends party at the end of the trip on Saturday!
